This is the case if we are assuming that all individuals are able bodied. If infants are born with some sort of disability, I would argue that is due to the nature side of the argument. Often time if this is the case, it has something to do with the biological make-up of the infant’s mother or father. For example, if we take a look at my parents it is easy to see how their biologic make-up has affected me, but I am ultimately my own person and am very dissimilar to them. My mother and father both had a rough childhood. My mother’s father passed away when she was 12 and my father’s dad left him when he was a young boy. Growing up, they lived troublesome childhoods and barely finished high school, seeing as my mother was pregnant with me while still in school. Once they graduated they never pursued any higher education, but always vouched to give their children the child hood they never had. Despite struggling to make ends meet, 22 years later they are still married and have 3 children. Growing up I saw how much my parents struggled and new I did not want that for myself. Throughout high school I played many sports and participated in multiple clubs/organizations. As soon as I graduated I started to pursue my bachelor’s degree. I believe that my social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development was largely influenced by
