Time management is one of the most imperative details that a college student should be aware of. why should a college student be concerned about time management?, well the answer is simple; when you find yourself spending three hours a day on social media , you realize that social media can is stealing most of the time that should be used to do homework or study. “The percentage of students dedicating six or more hours per week to social media has jumped from 19.9% to 27.2% in the last decade alone” (Kang). These days college students are spending more time and social media that they spend hanging out with friends; that 's what surveys of college students students shows. Social media has come so strong that is deteriorating and stopping college students from doing what a normal students would do. College students now prefer to stay in bed and text until late at night than go workout or do outdoor activities. “In 2007, almost one -third of students, or 31.9 percent, said that they only logged in to social networks for less than an hour a week, compared to 21.7 percent who said the same this year”(Straumsheim). Social media can be used for lots of different things; and different people use it for different sobject of those things. “ Researchers think that what matter the most is how frequently Facebook users compare themselves to other people; An inevitable human tendency that’s been known to lead to unhappiness”(Singal). Jesse Singal states that a recent study in the Journal of Sciences and Clinical Psychology a team lead by Mai-Ly N. showed them that Facebook, happiness, and social comparison are related to each other .
