Cancer is a huge disease that affect many lives every year. It also can cause huge physical, mental, and emotional affect on people who have had the disease. It is also results in the most deaths of kids more than any other diseases. The uncertainty of cancer affects millions of people throughout the world every year. However, when kids are diagnosed with cancer it is more devastating because they have more to lose. When people at young ages get cancer it affect their development. If the brain has a tumor; when a kids is 2 or 3 years old, when they are learning to talk and walk it can hurt that ability. Also things like growth hormones are seriously affected by different types of treatment, usually leaving kid who has cancer with a short stature. Almost every kids who survived from cancer is left with some sort of physical consequence . A lot of this side effect can increase their possibility of being sick in the future. The organization People Against Childhood Cancer did a research about statistics of childhood cancer and figured out that, “34% childhood cancer survivors will die within 30 years because of harsh side effects”(Childhood Cancer Facts and Stats).
