However, children who are exposed to addiction are more likely to have an addiction problem as adults, especially if they witness it on a daily basis. Also, children living in a single family are at increased risk of addiction, although, report indicated that children living with both parents was associated with heavy smoking (Hu, Griesler, Schaffran, & Kandel, 2011). Peer pressure is also another risk factor that cause addiction. Teens who try to fit in and gain acceptance can easily be pressure in using alcohol or drugs, which eventually led to addiction.
