The teacher related the discussion, subject matter and the relevance of the power point to the class. After the presentation, the teacher then asked for opinions, thoughts, suggestions about anything pertaining to the lecture or anything that was coming up soon, that they would like to share with the class. My observation is that, without the audio-visual, the discussion would not have been as exciting.
At the end of the class lecture, I approached the teacher to give feedback about my observation. The teacher was surprised that I was so detailed in my observation about the students, the lecture and the classroom. The teacher also said to me that this class was one of her best lecturers. The teacher thanked me and said that she had spoken to the student prior about his behavior in the classroom and not reading the material. The teacher was aware of the student and his primary concerns. I think because I took an observational approach, that the teacher was open to the feedback.
Contextual Issues There were no contextual issues and once the students understood the lesson, the feedback from the students was positive. Because the teacher had anticipated that some of the students would not be prepared, the teacher was prepared with the audio-visual using power point and guiding the students through the lecture. The teacher was very skilled in speaker and very knowledgeable of the lecture. I became excited about the lecture and wrote 4 pages of notes. The content and delivery were superbly appropriate for the class. I probably would take the course, once I finish my certificate.
Conclusion
The teacher clearly communicated the objectives to the students, focused and guided their thinking and this helped to motivate participation. The teacher also called the students by
