Reynard Yana is 49 year old Asian male currently resides in an independent living facility in Riverhead, NY. He work for Stony Brook University as outdoor management staff. He moved from the Philippines when he was 19 with his parents and two sisters. Both of his parents passed away a couple years ago and he has two sisters live in Stony brook, but he is not in frequent contact with his family. He has never been married, no child.
Occupational Status
Reynard does not have difficulties with ADLs, he demonstrates a great level of personal hygiene, dressing, feeding independently. The Resident demonstrates a moderate level in IADLs, he drives to the places he needs to go to his car independently and uses the navigation to direct himself as needed. He prepares his meal independently and aware of where to go for necessary ingredients, explains how to prepare for the dishes and aware that it is necessary to clean up right after. Resident in very active in exercising and seems a habit of exercise, strong body function and structure supports his motor skills. Beginning of the interview, resident moved a heavy chair without having difficulties and he uses his body effectively to lift and carried heavy object. He did not have trouble bending, reaching for the object and successfully grab a chair with proper calibration by effectively positioning himself before lifting heavy goods. As was observed in his demonstration of transporting heavy chair, occupational therapy student noticed strong motor skills of the resident. During the action, he uses dexterous finger movements without slipping object and body coordination. He was able to walk freely to transport objects and does not express fatigue during the process. From the observation, it can be led to a conclusion that he has no impairment in motor
