Okay For Now is written by Gary D. Schmidt and it is a story about a kid whose dad made him and his family move to Marysville. The main character of the story is Doug Swieteck and he doesn't want to move to Marysville but they have to. His dad named Mr. Swieteck is not a nice dad and he is very abusive just like his brother named Christopher. Also, Doug has a brother who is currently serving in Vietnam. The book has many dynamic characters like Doug, Mr. Swieteck, and Christopher. To sum it up, the book is Okay For Now has many dynamic characters. Doug is a dynamic character in many different ways. First, it says on page thirty-three it says “I hate stupid Marysville”. Then, it says on page 333 it says “I’m pretty happy in Marysville now”. These two quotes show how Doug is a dynamic character because at the beginning of the book he doesn’t enjoy Marysville at all ,but at the end he says he likes it. Finally, Doug is a dynamic character throughout the entire book. Mr. Swieteck is a dynamic character in several ways. To start it off, on page eleven it says “What a stupid thing to give you in the summer...Get in the freaking car”. Next, on page 347 it says “He opened the door...and he came in...
