example of the impulsive one stereotype because of his lack of thinking.
He doesn’t think before he does something. In fact that’s what had gotten
him killed in the first place. Lumely is a really careless character in this
story.
The story “One for the road” is about this guy (Gerard Lumely)
has gotten stuck in a snowstorm in maine.Gerard comes to a bar, and asks
for help to come find his missing wife and family. While he’s at he bar he
meets the other two main characters, which are Booth, and Tookey. After
hearing what happened, Tookey, and Booth decide to help him. They end

“ Is Everything okay?' He pulled open the driver's side of
the door and leaned in.” ( King 8) Lastly he went after his wife, and
because of the she killed him. Lumley had reached her. “He looked like a
ghost himself, coated in snow like he was. He reached for her and then he
began to scream.” (King 10)
With the first quote it’s Tookey talking to Gerard. He wants him to
shut up with a second and think for a moment. Second quote also proves
his stereotypical type because he was being reckless he went and just ran
toward the car, and he didn’t think about any of the consequences that
went with his action. Now for my final quote from the text, this ultimately
proves his stereotype because he threw himself into the action of getting
killed. He went after his wife, without thinking about anything. He thought it
would be all okay and nothing bad would happen, but he was dead wrong.
In conclusion, there is a lot of stereotypes in books, and even
movies. Some are good, and others not so much. But i think they
sometimes make a good element to a story. It seems like those
stereotypical characters helps brings the horror related things together,
within my opinion of this
