Most patients with type I are destined to loss their hearing by the young age of forty years old. Along with hearing loss, they also risk easily bruising from the slightest impact because they are so extremely fragile. As for type II patients, they face worse physical conditions because of their illness. They may be born with a smaller nose compared to a healthier person. A person with type II OI faces a more life threatening life because they risk that their ribs are going to be beaded and deformed. Other long bones in their body also risk being deformed. Most people who died from type II OI die because of the fragility of their ribs, hemorrhages or even malformations of the central nervous system, and pulmonary hypoplasia which is the underdevelopment of the lungs which is usually developed at birth. As for type III, may suffer from skull deformity which result from the delivery of them as an infant. They also suffer from bone aches and muscle aches very frequently compared to other types of OI.
