There are two types of prescriptions that the child can be given.
One type is a stimulant, “most commonly prescribed medications for ADHD” (Kristeen, 2014). Stimulants increase the amount of hormones that affect the brain. Some stimulants are commonly used are Amphetamines, Methamphetamine, Methylphenidate. The other type of prescription given to children is a non-stimulant. Theses affect the neurotransmitter but they don’t increase the dopamine levels that affect the brain. Some of the non-stimulants given are Atomoxetine, Clonidine, Guanfacine.

She would have a few moments of the day where she would get distracted and forget to do certain things. She has moments in the middle of class where the daughter feels that she has the need to get up and move around, but when asked to sit back down in her seat she would tap on the table multiple time, move around in her seat a lot and fidget her feet and fingers against the desk. When it came to giving directions she would need multiple step directions given and explain to her one at a time to be able to understand how to do it.
