Upon first glance, the painting is filled with straight lines that are both horizontal and vertical. These are used in the creation of scenarios where everything seems to be in symmetry. The use of dark hues such as gray and black accompanied by the occasional white color gives the viewer the idea that the picture is one that shows a dark time. The elements seem to work in unison (Picasso, 2011). This is evident because the creatures seem to share a particular look on their faces that gives the viewer the picture of people in the canvas.
