The peer-reviewed article I chose is titled “Making healthcare safer by understanding, designing and buying better IT”. I found this article in the Medline database, by using the keywords “Informatics”, “patient”, and “safety”. Using the basic search options located below the keywords, I did not have much trouble locating a peer reviewed article concerning my topic. I selected peer reviewed journals, full text, citations, abstract available and inserted a date range. After scrolling through about three pages and reading the abstract of several articles, this article seemed to be most relevant to my topic of choice. My purpose for choosing this article is to research the role that Nurse Informaticists play in patient care, quality care and patient safety.

John Williams is a professor of health services research. Lewis and Williams also work for the Swansea University and have published many works alongside many other researchers.
