This case has a direct and indirect relation with some of our book chapters . First of all , chapter six ( Resistance to change ) which has the basic relation with the issues discussed in Perrier company . We are talking in this case about the employees who refuse the attempt to changes , In fact, there are many points that make employees not contributing in the change process . So, we are going to explain the basic reasons that make Perrier employees resist the change regarding to chapter six , follow it by solutions from the same chapter and also link it with some points from other chapters.
To start with , one of the main point that make employees resist the change according to chapter six is that they perceived negative effect on their interest.

Sometime the employees look at the change from different perspective. In a similar way , Perrier employees were looking to the change in a different way than the manager . so they believe that the company shouldn’t change, and it cause of misunderstanding between them .
In this case, Nestle company has launched a new product and Perrier’s manager put it in the factory cafeteria to emphasize to his employees that they were involved in head to head battle for that niche in the market , but the act wasn’t well received and they feel that it was provocation . This lack of understanding and convince lead to negative reaction and resistance .
To deal with this problem , we can also use the situational approach , specifically , education and communication strategy , because in this case the employee need more clear information. Putting the bottles to inform them was not a good idea and was not enough , so manager should communicate with them in a clearer way , contact with them and give them some rationale reasons for the change
