A family is defined as a union of people with children, either adopted or their own, that will continue for generations. In America, families tend to include the extended relatives but they don’t live with them. There is a wide variety of family organizational patterns in use today. Monogamy is the most popular form of marriage in America, but not around the world. Polygamy is common in numerous societies around the world. Group marriage is in multiple areas as well but not as common. In the west it is common for newly married couples to move away from both of their families, in other places this isn 't as common. In eastern societies its more known for them to move into one of their families residences. Most places are patriarchal meaning the men have the authority over the society. Some societies, though rare, are matriarchal meaning the women have the authority. Riots could be considered a collective behavior. If someone is searched unlawfully, it may cause a riot or protest. Government and employers may make changes or raise wages in order to suppress collective behavior.
