The economy still hasn’t recovered from the recession in 2008. Jobs are hard to come by, good paying jobs, especially those that offers advancement and extra bonuses. I lost ten pounds, getting up at 4:30 am every day rushing to get to work for seven in the morning, interviews at lunch, get a quick bite on my way back, then go to another one after work since I finished work at three in the afternoon. My shift started at 7 am until 3 pm. After three months I got a job as a legal secretary at a law firm in Times Square and the atmosphere is very different. I came from a Radio Broadcasting background in Trinidad and Tobago, and I loved that job and I was excellent at it. Two factors influence how I got the job; my voice and being at the right place at the right time. I lasted for a year because I was excelling on the air and two male counter parts started to feel resentment and they set me up to fail. Two of the radio DJs never showed up for work, and I had to work my shift from 9 am
