In 2010 I was a person who was unsure about all the aspects of my life. I felt as if life had no meaning to it. I was afraid of what the future held for me due to the fact that it never seemed to be clear to me. I had no education goals whatsoever, I was extremely unmotivated to succeed in life. I never valued anything that I had, that being the love my family and friends gave me and all the personal belongings that my parents provided me with.…
My professional career has included some of the top regional theatre companies in the country. My personal experiences include attending night clubs from London to New York, attendance to hundreds of opening and entertainment driven events, theatrical performances, concerts, etc… I have the innate ability to recognize great talent of multiple genres and what will attract an audience and keep them coming back for…
Three careers that would be well suited for me are a cost estimator, an operations research analyst, and a conservation officer. Two of these careers involve quantitative thinking and mathematical skills, while the third career involves enforcing laws and regulations and working outdoors. Due to my interest in working outdoors I have chosen conservation officer as the best career opportunity for me. The first job I researched is a cost estimator. I researched this job because it involves mathematical skills on a daily basis.…
My graduate experience will be light years different then my undergraduate training. I chuckle just contemplating the technological difference alone. Back when I attended undergraduate school there wasn’t the internet, the LoudCloud, e-books, or personal laptop computers. We thought we were “hot stuff” because we progressed from the slide ruler to a state of the art Texas Interment graphing calculator. By the way google informed me that my particular calculator at that time was the first of its kind.…
One would imagine their twenty-first birthday to be companied with friends and legal consumption of alcohol. I never imagined mine to be woken up by a phone call to the hospital. Being next to my mother’s side as she recovered from a successful kidney transplant was the best gift in my twenty-one years of life. My mother’s health journey is my drive to pursue nursing. I devoted to be my mother’s supporter and fighter to never let kidney disease defeat her.…
My goal is to graduate with my degree and then return to school and work on earning a second degree. While comprehending fully the materials that are presented during my courses. I want to absorb all the knowledge that I can to share with others in the future. Another goal of mine is to learn how to create and sustain a successful business so that one day I will be able open my own business. I also want to learn how to speak Spanish fluently previously taking two Spanish classes in high school and enjoying it so much that I want to expand my learning of the language.…
Several challenges occurred during my college career. I worked throughout the majority of my education to pay for books and tuition. My parents helped with the costs of attending college as well as supporting me when my studies became difficult. The experience of being the first in my family to work towards a bachelors degree meant a lack of guidance and advice. I sought out the advice of an adviser who I have been working with for the past three years.…
My career goals are to be successful and to change the current status of women around the world. This would not be easy as many have tried, but I believe that technology will be able to change the lives of many. I developed these goals through experiences with narrow-minded family members that do not believe that I am able to achieve all the I have because I am of the female…
I started my educational goals just like every other student. I graduated from high school with the ideal that I would accomplish my goals within a short amount of time. I would become rich and live happily ever after. I graduate top of my class and assumed that I would go straight to college to purse my dreams. Although I did not have a defined idea of what I wanted to do in life, I always wanted to help people.…
My first year of high school was winding down, teachers had covered all learning material, and most students were preparing for finals. June had just begun, and along with studying, I had an upcoming saxophone recital for which I had been preparing since April. The Tuesday before my recital, I had my second to last lesson with my teacher, Fred Scerbo, before the recital on Sunday. I was preparing a piece by Charlie Parker named "Anthropology". Despite its difficulty, I felt that I would be able to perform it well.…
My education and work experience has prepared my success for this position in the following ways: it has taught me the required knowledge that is essential for evaluating and applying the appropriate methods to analyze and solve problems. It has taught me how to be efficient and proficient in my work as well as my everyday life. It has taught me how to relate to peers and professors in a professional manner. It has taught me time management and how to be flexible with schedules when needed. It has taught me integrity and pride in my professional and personal life, by teaching me the importance upholding ethical standards.…
I began working on my flexibility when I was only a year old--I did the splits across the Atlantic Ocean. With one foot in Bulgaria and one in America, I had to learn to hold my stretch for months at a time. Soon after I was carried, swaddled, and sung to on the flight into the United States, I learned to walk and speak English. I have PBS Kids and Looney Tunes mostly to thank for this, though I admit American public education could possibly have had some part in my fluency. It wasn’t long before I began writing semi-comprehensibly and nagging my parents in not one but two languages.…
Life is full of choices, some of which are not easy decisions to make. At eighteen years old, I have made many decisions in my life, carrying from what to wear in the morning to what classes I should take in high school in order to better prepare myself for college. Being the youngest of three children in my family, I am the last one to decide what career path I wish to follow. Both of my older sisters pursued careers in the field of medicine, and it was expected that I would as well. I felt great pressure from friends and family to go into the medical field and found a lack of support from them when I decided to pursue a career in elementary education.…
Dreams may come in many forms but a couple of my biggest dreams is to graduate with honors. I’m going to go back to school! Why not learn while I’m there? Like I said earlier in my essay dreams are very hard to obtain and may even be laughed at. Another dream is to put all my kids through college but I face challenges putting myself through college.…
I grew up in a household, which valued reading but it wasn’t until I was in middle school that I truly fell in love with the liberal arts. My seventh grade English teacher used Shakespeare to exemplify the modern dramatic literature style. Her passion for teaching and fondness of classical works instilled an eagerness to explore further literature. My deep-seated appreciation for English became stronger in high school, as I discovered authors such as Dostoyevsky and Hardy. My interest in the sciences also came to fruition when I began my biology courses, under an engaging instructor.…
