I texted Mark, telling him I needed his advice. He texted me back telling me that we would talk about it tomorrow when we go to Des Moines. Mark and I had made plans earlier to go to Des Moines and go out to eat at Zombie Burger. That place is amazing, by the way so go try it. Sorry I keep getting side tracked. I’m not trying to make this story interesting, I really am getting side tracked and just typing what ever I am thinking. So, back to my story. At this point, I was coming up with every lie possible to tell to explain to the police that they had the wrong person. I am not a very good liar, plus there was strong evidence of me being there. I mean, I left my wallet and phone there. I finally fell asleep. I woke up the next morning, and met Mark at K-Mart. I got into Marks truck and he just laughed. Mark always knows when I do stupid shit. Its like he can sense stupidity. I said, “Mark, I did some pretty dumb shit last night.” I explained to him what happened and he laughs. He says, “I’m not mad, but you are pretty stupid.” I agreed with him. I figured since he was an ex detective that he would be able to help me out. He gave me the best advice I probably have ever gotten. He says to me, “ The more you try to bullshit your way out of problems and lie, the worse you will make things. Admit you’re wrong, explain that you messed up and that you deserve what ever punishment you get.” I was confused, and told me to call the police station and tell them I messed up. I called the station, and explained to the officer what happened and said exactly what Mark told me. Holy shit, this guy is a miracle worker. The officer tells me that he wasn’t going to send the arrest warrants out because I admitted that I was wrong for what I did, and was willing to accept the
