I wanted to learn English. I was going to an adult education school after work, but my teachers were Spanish speakers. they tried to teach me English but using Spanish words. That made my goal of learning English almost impossible to achieve. I also was working in a Spanish speaking company, and at home, we always would speak in Spanish. I started to realize that in the environment I was so deeply intertwined in, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to learn English. I started looking for possible solutions to overcome this challenge. After some time, I came up with the solution: since Spanish was the only language I was using in Miami, I did not have the need to learn English to communicate. I knew that I would need to challenge myself in another environment. The solution was to move to a city where I was forced to learn English to be able and communicate. I started to seek out different possibilities like Huston, New York, Los Angeles and Louisville. I realized that Louisville was the city where there were less Spanish speakers. I thought it would be a great city for me and my kids and would propel me to learn English; therefore, I decided to move to Louisville. After moving, I started going to school, taking English classes and interacting in the daily living activities with English speakers. due to this, I overcame this educational
