I wrote “Voice to me means an opportunity to save a life by giving useful information to help strop the harmful effects of tobacco.” I was able to realize that even though I am still in high school adults, teenagers, and children will listen to what I have to say. Two days after my training session, I spoke to my high school soccer team about the harmful effects of tobacco. I initiated a discussion and answered all of the questions my teammates had. Three weeks later I was announced the winner of the Tobacco Free Boone County Voice program sports poster. I was selected from representatives throughout my community. The next day after I received the new I attended a press release and photo shoot for the poster. I read my essay to members of the community and answered a few questions about Voice. A few weeks ago I had my poster revealing and second press release. I had to go on the stage in front of the crowd and read my essay into the microphone. After that night I realized that I am no longer a child, but an adult. I am able to connect with citizens of all ages in my community, not just about tobacco, but everyday
