Revision was a new concept to me coming into this class. I had never sat down and deleted scenes, removed characters, or taken the time to read my story from an unfamiliar perspective. I believe that the most important out of these crucial factors is conflict. Conflict can be defined as the tension and struggle of the story. To me, conflict is the heart of the story as it is often the reason for writing and reading. Conflict keeps writers motivated, readers interested, and creates the narrative arc that is so important to any piece of writing. Following conflict, I would rate plot as the next most key factor. The plot is the series of events that set up the story. The plot introduces the characters, creates the conflict, and tells the story. Setting and character are also elements that should be included to have a tangible story. The characters should be relatable, interesting, and three dimensional as they are the ones who make the story come alive. The setting of the story sets up the image created in the reader’s head, so it should fit the plot, conflict, and
