Chambers, C (2016) Unit 1: Welcome to Bethel University!
You should send me to DePauw College next year. The first reason you should send to school in DePauw is the cost. The school gives out very generous merit scholarships to every admitted student. In addition I am eligible for service related scholarships that would help reduce costs.…
I will strive and offer my dedication to Mt. Sac College. I can offer innovation in many areas, including strategies to effective report deadlines and communication among peers. I am able to contribute my ability to work well with others under pressure. My extensive experience in providing excellent customer and employee assistance will provide the smooth running of your company. I am a fast learner in which will enable me to quickly adapt to your company environment.…
Hancock College Prep has always been like a second home to me. The school evokes a positive vibe to the staff, teachers, and staff. I love the way my teachers motivate me to do my very best at school every day. My teachers have always pushed me to live up to my full potential and it’s something I appreciate a lot because without them I wouldn’t be able to have an open mindset to new ideas and challenges.…
The sciences have been central to my life ever since I was a child. My mother is a veterinarian and my father a mechanical engineer. Both of my parents attended Tuskegee University and always pushed for me to consider HBCU’s for my education. STEM careers and education are promoted heavily in Huntsville, my hometown, as major tech companies and government entities such as NASA and Missile Defense are located there. I ventured out my senior year and took courses dealing with social sciences, both in my high school and at a nearby university.…
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to attend North Dakota State University. My dad and sister are NDSU alumni, so furthering my education where they did provides us with a unique bond. Additionally, not many of my relatives attended college, allowing me to see the difficulties in providing for oneself and family without a college degree. Although I know the next seven years are going to be challenging, extremely strenuous, and will push me to the edge of my comfort zone, the satisfaction of administering medical services to those who need them will make it worthwhile. Not only will I be able to care for others with a Pharm.…
I am a first-generation Latina student at The Ohio State University. Being from inner city Toledo, Ohio, I attended a public district where 80% of students received free or reduced lunch and the graduation rate was at an all time low of 49%. My parents had not graduated high school, therefore once college applications became relevant, they unfortunately could not help me. Through 25 different scholarships, I was able to attend OSU without any loans and truly believed I was on the right track to achieving the "American Dream". To my dismay, once classes began, I was lost.…
As the year comes to an end, all that is left is prepare for senior year and advise the incoming juniors of what to expect. First and foremost, to all of the incoming juniors I would like to advise that they enjoy their experience as a Junior but not stray from their education. Junior year is such an important year for college futures and career paths, that so much uncertainty leads students to stray down the wrong path. As long as they know their priorities, the incoming juniors will be able to enjoy their junior year. Me, as an incoming senior, want to take my own advice and enjoy the year while setting my priorities straight.…
I will apply the tip giving to me in the read section by putting them to use. I will use the resources that are given to me. I will also communicate with my teacher on any issues I am having during the course. I will also use the library as needed during my time at Bethel University. I also plan on working ahead.…
I began my educational journey at Georgia State University as an enthusiastic pre-medicine major with a very unrealistic goal of taking on the world. I told myself I would sacrifice anything to become a doctor, including accepting the possibility of never having children due to how hard it would be for me to spend quality time with them. I constantly worried about the finances required for my education, if my parents had the necessary funds to pay their bills, and much more. As far as my academic performance, I was never satisfied with my science grade point average. I felt inferior to my classmates who seemed to absorb and comprehend information at a faster rate in comparison to me.…
I have always felt that my purpose in life was to strive to be the best person I could be. I feel that attending Texas A&M University will further me in achieving this dream. My ultimate goal is to attend A&M University, however, Blinn College has been my first stepping stone. My family has lived in Bryan/College Station ever since I was a baby. I grew up in a household with five children, including myself.…
I am interested in membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., because of what Delta represents. To me Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. represents strong, educated black woman that are dedicated to improving their community. When I was a child I always said that I wanted to improve my community. As I grew up I saw how children from impoverished homes were not always exposed or given the opportunity to achieve a better life. That’s when I realized that we have to help our youth in order to see a change in our community.…
With my ministerial and educational background, I believe I would make an excellent addition to the student body and that the training received at Liberty would help towards my goals of becoming a more proficient leader, minister, husband, and father. I also have aspirations of expanding my ministry into the realm of institutional teaching. It is my unqualified conviction that the Doctor of Education in Christian Leadership will assist me in accomplishing these and other…
In daily homework completion, students are required to plan, inhibit distractions, and well-organize themselves. They must learn to complete their…
So It 's important to know how to administer your schedule, because if you don’t, it will ultimately stop you from being the best student and person you can be. A main problem that many freshmen face is, procrastinating a lot. Procrastination is postponing a task or job for later. As a student, I have experienced this many times, when i 'm working on an assignment, I get distracted by my phone, television, or anything. And, I’m always doing my homework at the last-minute.…
Therefore, memorization, cramming, and rushed completion are deemed proper strategies. With those methods, a student still has a chance to get a passing grade without spending a great deal of their own time. But, studying in that manner is often a means of last resort when the student has simply run out of time. For whatever the reason, the use of their time was not adequately employed to their studies. “One of the greatest sources of stress is over-commitment or poor time management” (“Stress”, utexas.edu).…
