Have you ever thought that the government is too powerful, well now they are starting to make set curfews because they assume all kids are bad? The government is basically saying that adults aren’t qualified to raise their own kids so they are doing it for them. The government should not be allowed to do this to teens because it should be theirs and their parent’s responsibility on if they can go out and when they have to be back in the house. The government is becoming too powerful and we can’t let this slide. In this essay I will be going over how curfews don’t reduce crime, how it punishes kids that aren’t doing anything wrong, and finally it doesn’t keep kids safer.

The government assumes that since there is crime going on that it’s every kid being bad. A lot of kids and parents are mad about this because they they’reass thatsuppose that all kids get into trouble late at night so basically they’re are sayingsaying that they do bad things because their home life is bad and because they take after they’re parents. “It’s not fair. They think all kids are bad but we’re not.” (CBS NEWS). “Like other spontaneous gatherings, many of these so-called ‘flash mobs were fairly harmless in nature. Many kids that hang out late at night don’t even do anything bad, they are mostly all harmless.” Most kids that hang out late at night are mostly at restaurants or the movies, not doing anything bad. (BERG). If a kid goes out late at night and they end up getting hurt or lost than the parent should be held accountable for it because it’s their responsibilities to keep track and take care of them. “Look at the murder rate of children, because it’s definitely necessary. I think the parents should be held accountable.” Many parents agree that if their kid gets lost it’s their own fault. (Wegner &
