For years, many adults have legally and illegally carried concealed handguns for a number of reasons. Whether it is to protect themselves or their loved ones, most law abiding citizens who desire to carry a concealed handgun do so for the purpose of protection. In his book “More Guns, Less Crime: Understanding Crime and Gun Control Laws,” John Lott, provides data supporting the claim that the greatest declines in crime rates are related to the greatest increases in concealed handgun permits (98).
