The honeysuckle plant has managed to create a benefical relationship with its new environment rather than destroying it. How this relationship works is that “the honeysuckle provides food for the birds, and the birds via feces disperse the honeysuckle seeds, helping it to spread.” (Staff). If people do try to remove the honeysuckle from the birds’ environment, those actions could harm many species of native birds that now seem to rely on honeysuckle as a major food source. Whether the predicaments are due to natural circumstances or the result of human action, we have to do something about it. Once an invasive species spreads in a certain environment, it gets difficult to eradicate that species from that certain environment. Some methods of getting rid of invasive species involve “Create effective mechanisms to prevent their introduction in the first place, Create monitoring systems for detecting new infestations and move rapidly to eradicate newly detected invaders.”
