Just because teachers assign homework and expect it to be completed at home, it does not necessarily mean that it will be. Students making it a priority to complete assignments on their own often depends on the home environment in which he/she lives. Studies have shown that the more parents are involved with helping their child complete his/her homework, the more likely the child will be to consider it valuable and be willing to complete it. Homework is supposed to be assigned to create other skills that students need to be successful in school.
