I did want to keep everyone updated regarding our new implication regarding our 99 Boxes. We have received approval from both our Critical Care and Code blue Committee. Our next step is to share this new process with our Residents, Interns and nurses.
Please note we will be downsizing our 99 boxes to the necessary items needed during an emergency intubation: In which we have identified key essential that will be organized in a separated bundle that will be placed on top of the 99 boxes for easy access.
The bundles of essential items include:
a. Self-inflating manual resuscitator with mask
b. 1 Laryngoscope disposable
c. Laryngoscope blades (Mac 3 and 4)
d. Yankauer suction
e. 10 cc syringe
f. 1 Stylet
g. ETT holder
h. Endotracheal tube size 7.5

The 99 box will include:
k. Non Rebreather Mask
l. Oxygen connecting tubing (extension)

p. suction kit 14fr
q. 10 cc syringe
r. Lubricating jelly (1 packets)
s. 1 Magill forceps
