This information regarding restorative people is reassuring since I plan on becoming a pharmacist, which is closely related to solving problems in the medical field specifically. In the pharmacy lecture, Steve explained how pharmacists must have problem-solving skills and analytical thinking (McDonald, 2017). Having a restorative perspective has helped me in clubs that I have joined, such as the MU Pre-Pharmacy Club and Mizzou Public Health Club. In both of these clubs, I use restorative skills when we plan our service events and health-related educational events. We brainstorm whatever the prevalent issues are in the community and deliberate ways we could potentially solve the problem, or at least help give back to a certain cause. The insights of restorative skills include, “diligently working on examining what needs to be modified” (Gallop, 2017). Pharmacists are drug experts whose goals are to eliminate symptoms (McDonald, 2017). When pharmacists are administering pharmaceutical drugs, they are modifying certain intake in order to receive the best results, which is exactly what restorative people aspire to do: fix what is wrong.
