Physical activity is any movement that a person makes using the muscles in their body. It requires the person to do energetic physical activities such as running, walking, dancing, swimming, and riding a bicycle. The importance of physical activity is everywhere it teaches teamwork, how to deal with emotions, how to combine healthy eating with physical activity, it can help teach other classroom subjects, also a stronger immune system, the body 's ability to fight disease is improved, children are also less likely to caught colds, allergies, and diseases. The male figure has to be strong in the eyes of the society. Maybe males seek comfort in the physical activities instead of actually expressing them physically. Although, children should be open to expressing their emotions because it will bring their self esteem up. The teacher should practice certain movement to help the child connect with their emotion. For example in the book “The Art of Learning Through Movement” the authors mention “Dance class is the ideal place for emotional expression. The freedom to enjoy vigorous muscular activity exhilarates the child, the heightens all of his senses. Through movement he can be helped to exercise the full gamut of his emotions…He senses the wide range of emotions within him. He becomes aware of each emotions and how each one propels him.” Also if a child has hidden anger a teacher can find useful movements such as “swords” and this will allow for the child to release all the anger and provide a more relaxed classroom and help the child release tension in a positive manner.
