In this tutorial we leaned about three experiments that were conducted by Jean Piaget focusing on cognitive development. I learned various things from the views of Piaget, terms and the different stages of intellectual growth. Piaget made an observation of how children's thinking adapt to their environment as they get older. Meaning that the children learn in a form of adaptation. People organize metal thoughts to understand the way the world works. Piaget called it a schema. Schemas are presented in simple action patterns in children at a young age. Further, thus makes schemas change over a period of someones life. The two terms that Piaget produces explained how schemas change. Accommodation is refining our old schemas to make a new experience fit in where as assimilation is incorporating the experience into our old schemas. It showed paths to identity achievement and different ways to find your identity. There are four different identity statuses one could have. Diffusion is where someone is not focused in the questions of their identity which leads no to commitments in beliefs or values. Foreclosure is a status where people have embrace teachings of someone influentially and have not consider other choices. Moratorium refers to someone who is will to take anything out but will not make commitments. And identity achievement is someone who score high on exploration and commitment. Thus making the individual well rounded and balance thinkers. I thought that this tutorial was interesting overall. I enjoyed the four observation videos for examples. As well as how there was an the Ego identity Process Questionnaire that had 32 questions. It gave your results after showing where you were on the of degree of exploration and commitment spectrum. This tutorial was very helpful especially the questionnaire portion
