Most living things have to have energy in order to grow. They need food and water. Most living things have cells and DNA. They have to grow and reproduce. They have to maintain homeostasis. I consider a non living item to be something that has never been alive. Examples of nonliving items are rocks and metal. They can’t be dead because they were never living. It was once attached to a living specimen that was a tree but it is not living. It has some of the same traits as something living. Banana’s have cells and DNA. It is not living because it now does not need water or energy. Banana’s cannot reproduce on their own. 4. If an object gets larger and it moves it has to get some source of energy. So I believe it is a non living specimen because all living things need energy. 5. Viruses are made up of the carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphorus. However, when left alone they can’t reproduce. Only when they infect other organisms can they make more of their own kind. Should viruses be considered living? Why or why not?
I don’t think it should be considered living because it is only alive when it has a host. They cannot reproduce on their own therefore it’s not a living
