Pikes Peak Community College is recognized throughout Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas, and with this influence there are many elements involved in effectively operating the College. The College has gone through a variety of changes both internally and externally that has influenced the school to function in particular ways. The College’s administration has a standard for every department official who officiate certain key functions within the school’s daily operations, degree programs, and student assistance program proposals. Throughout the years, PPCC has gone through a variety of property expansions. Inside of the PPCC Multi-Site Report for the Higher Learning Commission text, there is an explanation on the ranges of administrative support which helps facilitate the necessary functions inside of the organization. The school campuses are “supported and monitored by the Vice President for Educational Services (VPES), Academic Deans, Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and appropriate support staff (e.g. Student Services and divisional classified staff). The Academic Dean supervises their departments on the assigned campus, and closely works together with the Associate Deans and Department Chairs to assist in any problems that may arise. The close interaction between the individual supervisors allows them to take care of any issues that need to be addressed. Yet, this level of structure within the administration should also be closely communicating with full-time faculty and adjuncts alike.
