One outcome repeated often as a result of the diversity present in Texas’s population is its foreseeable affect on political policy and partisanship. A drastic growth in any particular race or people group is reflected in the political culture. The most recent growth can be seen in the Hispanic culture and populating of Texas soil. Increasing Hispanic ethnic composition in the state of Texas as well as its increase in the United States as a whole has led to politicians seeking to enhance their political doctrines to include core values significant to the Hispanic culture. For example, George W. Bush was Republican by nature but understood the value of the Hispanic vote. As a result of this understanding, he incorporated many essential ideas and beliefs of their culture into his political campaign, thus receiving their votes. An ever-increasing Hispanic population may result in the end of Texas’ thirty-five year streak as a predominantly Republican state if those in authority do not begin to incorporate core values of the Hispanic culture into their campaign doctrines. If they are unable to do so, and presuming that the Hispanic population will increase in political activism, the political tides and Texas’ primary partisanship may begin to change as a result of their influence in the polls. This southern most state has long since been known for its Southern charm, values, and conservative nature in regards to political ideology. According to expert opinion, Texas has a very distinct political culture that they do not predict will undergo any radical changes so longs as those in power remain in power whilst adjusting their political ideologies and actions to incorporate Hispanic cultural opinion and values in order to gain the support of this rapidly growing population. Some of these values include major issues such as health care, criminal justice, prolife affiliation, acceptance of same-sex marriage, the promotion of bilingual education, certain economic restructurings, and most important are immigration reforms.
