He sees that just because the Socs have money does not make their life unicorns and rainbows. Like ponyboy said, “ it is rough all over”. This Is a really important part because at this point Pony boy looks beyond their labels and actually looks at them for who they are.
Resolution: “and I decided I could tell people, beginning with my English teacher. I wondered for a long time how to start that theme, how to start writing about something that was important to me. And I finally begin like this: when I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I only had two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home…”(Hinton 180)
I choose this quote to show the resolution of the book because at this moment Ponyboy accepts the things that have happened and decided to move forward. He wanted to share with others what was truly important to him and if that means his teacher then he will do his best work yet. We found out in the last paragraph of the book that Ponyboy was writing the book. Some may say that the resolution was when he went to court but I disagree. I say that because Ponyboy did not feel like his problems were solved and he was still upset. It is not until the end when Ponyboy figures out what he will do and decides to write a
