Since most students go to school full time (9-15 credit hours), work part time (0-30 hours a week), and volunteer (1-3 hours a week), one is basically paying to have a mental breakdown or fail. Ever since I was a kid, all I have heard from teachers to television shows is that, time is money. The truth of that statement really did not hit me until I ventured out of my teenage years to legalhood. Spending six hours in school every second day, Professors expect for every hour spent in class is one to two hours of work at home. This means twelve hours of homework for every day spent at school. Doctors recommend eight hours of sleep ("National Sleep Foundation", 2016). Furthermore, there are only twenty-eight hours left in the week for eating, travel, hygiene regimes, exercise, hobbies, and spending healthy time with family and friends. In high school, the only things you had to pay for were binders, utensils, and paper. All of the books that were read in class would be lended out to you for free. As one becomes legal, all the pressures of the Real World are put on them at once. That being, finances, food, clothes, medical needs, wellbeing, grades, family, etc. The process of learning to become an adult is very taxing, and being the perfectionist that I am is ridiculously stressful. High school was one of the easiest times of my life, burdens aside. Intro to Psychology does not fall short on this list, it being my hardest class. Post Secondary has been a slap in the face and continues to be every grade I
