Scene 1
[Lights up on an apartment in the middle of Fort Collins, Colorado. Kim is moving into her studio apartment for her last semester of college with the help of her boyfriend, Brian]
Brian. Are you sure it was a good idea to move away from everyone? I mean...I feel like you should of completed you semester back at home.
Kim: Please, don’t start this again. Everything is already finalized so I’m not going back on my plans. (Pause) Can you pass me that box? …show more content…
Sorry to scare you.
Kim: Neighbor?
Jim: I didn’t want to say it earlier, but I’m surprised that you didn’t recognize who I was at the food mart. I’ve lived right next door to you for the past 2 weeks.
Kim: (Hesitant) I’m sorry, I didn’t notice. (Pause) Well, I’ll see ya around.
(Kim walks up to her apartment and feels Jim staying close behind her and then exits to walk to his apartment)
Scene 5
(The next day, after getting off her shift, Kim was approached by her neighbor outside the food mart)
Kim: What are you doing here?
Jim: I’m just looking out for you. You know, a pretty girl like you should be more careful walking out here in the dark. Something terrible could happen...(grinning) But that’s why I’m here.
(Kim laughs uncomfortably, starting to feel scared. She noticed Jim holding something behind his back. Kim subtly starts to reach for the pepper spray in her bag until Jim holds out a rose)
Jim: I couldn’t resist asking you out again….
Scene 6
(The same ritual happened for a week. Kim was starting to panic. She calls up her boyfriend, Brian, while sitting in her …show more content…
Brian: Ugh, Kim, I knew this would happen.
Kim: No! It’s not that talk, I need your help.
Brian: Yes, babe?
Kim:. This guy from work is following me. He says he’s my neighbor and keeps trying to ask me out but I turn him down everytime, saying that I have a boyfriend and I’m not interested. Even after telling him this, he still waits for me in the parking lot every morning after my shift and brings me flowers. It’s really starting to freak me out. Will you come here and bring me and pick me up from work for a few days?
Brian: A two hour drive to pick you up from work? Yeah, I’ll see what I can do, but I need to get work off first.
Kim: I kept thinking he would stop, but he won’t leave me alone. I don’t want to call the cops on him, he seems like such a nice guy…”
Brian: Alright, don’t worry. I’ll call off work and be there first thing tomorrow morning. See you soon.
Kim: Thank you so much! I’ll see you soon, babe.
(Kim hangs up the phone and goes to sleep)
