The ISS, Glasgow Coma Score, and APACHE II Score, which were calculated at the time of arrival to the emergency department, were available for each data set.
Measurement Data was collected by clinical personnel and entered into a database for study. Both data sets contained data abstracted from hospital medical records including demographic, comorbidity, physical examination, resuscitation, and outcome data. Data quality was ensured by the training of research nurses in the recognition of ARDS, as well as the use of trained data entry personnel and regular internal
