Prenuptial Agreements
Prenuptials agreements shows lack of commitment and an unwillingness to be all in from the beginning of a marriage. Prenuptial agreements shows a lack of trust in the future spouse, shows planning in advanced for a divorce in a marriage that has not even begun yet, and it also will distract from the marriage because it shows that a spouse is more interested in money and property than being totally committed to the family.
When prenuptial agreements are created, they are often one sided. The less fortunate spouse will feel as though there has been a lack of fairness after years of marriage. Often times negotiating a prenuptial agreement is not romantic but rather a harsh business negotiation and made harsher by lawyers that become involved. If the spouse feels that there is nothing too loose, such as money or property, there is no reason to worry about the marriage. People will stay in a marriage longer than they should because of a prenuptial agreement. If a spouse will end up with a lot less than the spouse after a divorce because of prenuptial agreement, that spouse will tend to try and stay in that marriage and make the best out it because a divorce would mean an end to their way of life.
When a future spouse is planning for a wedding and introduces a prenuptial agreement, he or she is also planning for a divorce because in actuality, that is what the agreement is for. However, having a prenuptial agreement does not eliminate a court battle. Statistics often prove that courts enforce prenuptial agreements that grants a spouse what he/she would deserve under state law which clearly states that the agreement made years earlier was unfair to that particular
