Throughout his election, Bill Clinton demonstrated a variety of skills including confidence and intelligence, but one of the most valuable traits Clinton possessed that assisted his presidency was his endless drive to reduce the deficit. His idea was to raise taxes for the country, so that in turn, interest rates would improve, and people would be able to use a loan to pay for homes, cars, and more, without worrying about excessive expenditure. Many members of the senate, including his own party believed he was thinking beyond reality and that it would never work.
