One common counter-argument that some people will push is that America and its laws should become more like the United Kingdom, Australia, and other countries with similar laws regarding guns or gun control. Just using this as an argument is an issue, because it completely ignores major differences between America and places like the UK and Australia. The UK and Australia are both island countries, which makes it significantly harder to smuggle illegal items and contraband there then in the US, which is connected to Central and South America, as well as Canada.
