The consumption of pornographic content is correlated with a low level of commitment resulting in a higher percentage of unfaithfulness in relationships and led to the consumers having more casual sex instead of an intimate relationship (Lambert, Negash, Stillman, Olmstead, & Fincham, 2012). Research conducted by Bergner and Bridges (2002) found, that if the male partner is consuming pornographic content, this could result in enviousness and low perceptions of self-worth in women. Previous studies have shown that effects of violent pornography consumption can range from men displaying more violence towards women in their own sexual life (Brown & L’Engle, 2009; Kingston, Malamuth, Fedoroff, & Marshall, 2009; Vega & Malamuth, 2007; Ybarra, Mitchell, Hamburger, Diener-West, & Leaf, 2010), to women endure and increase acceptance for more violence from the side of men (Davis, Norris, George, Martell, & Heiman, 2006).
