Though the confidentiality of the researchers and the participants is one of the ethical conducts that should be maintained, there are cases when the public have been able to discover the participants and threatened them. Among the ethical costs in this research study include the costs of maintaining the confidentiality of the participants and at the same time the costs of shouldering the disclosure consequences. If the study was conducted in New Zealand then the following ethical considerations had to be complied with. There should be a board that should monitor the research from the preliminary stage s like accepting the proposal and making some reviews in case it is not to standards (Jensen 2015). The research being a concern of the general public should be done by a reference group that is able to be held responsible in case of any issues that are raised by the public. Before the publication of the psychological research findings, the board must be given the draft to make any improvements. After much scrutiny with regards to compliance with the research ethics, the findings are allowed to be published for the general population to be informed (Jensen 2015).
