Problem Statement
The researchers found that there was not enough studies on the required turning frequencies to prevent pressure ulcers. Satisfactory evidence was lacking to support for more frequent repositioning on a pressure-reducing mattress hence this study tried to investigate whether the increased frequency of repositioning in the lateral position will reduce incidence of pressure ulcer lesions (Vanderwee et al., 2007, p. 59).
