In Denisi/Griffin’s Human Resources Management textbook, the definition for the “Goals of Human Resource Management” were adequate. An individual who selects this field must demonstrate “facilitating organizational competitiveness”, “enhancing productivity and quality”, “comply with legal and social obligations”, and “promote individual growth and development”. The Human Resource director or manager has a legal obligation to the organization to ensure the company is following state and federal employment laws. The organization previously was full-funded. The partners decided to switch to a self-funded health care plan. During the open enrollment sessions, Mrs. Anderson explains how each employee must become a better consumer regarding their health care plan. This means each employee is responsible for the cost of their health care. When a female files a claim for having a baby, every employee of Ortho Georgia will contribute to paying the claim. During the Open Enrollment sessions, Mrs. Anderson delivered an excellent speech explaining why all employees must become better consumers regarding their health care plans. After her presentation, I witness people who once did not care about the cost of their medication or insurance; now have valuable questions regarding the cost of drugs and how the cost will affect their monthly
