Democracy, regarded as the rule of the majority has evolved into the most desired form of governance preferred by the majority of individuals across nations around the world. However, the concept of the rule “of the people, for the people, and by the people” as reiterated by Abraham Lincoln, has been considered a fleeting construct of the society as fewer citizens are engaged in measures and processes tailored towards promoting democracy within the community.
