The qualitative research project concerning racial profiling will be explained in detail to give a better understanding of how it occurred. The study involves analyzing data from two separate groups of people from Los Angeles. One group of people was from a suburban area and another group from an inner city housing area. Both groups of individuals totaled to fifty individuals each.
A sample was determined with the aim of understanding how racial profiling occurs in different aspects. Both groups of people underwent face to face interviews where they answered some questions, and the information was recorded for data analysis purposes (Hayle, Wortley &Tanner, 2016). Both groups of people completed the same survey and questions were designed to collect information on topics including the demographic characteristics of the respondent. Then it went into their family background, the education and employment history, leisure activities, criminal victimization, drug, and alcohol abuse records as well as gang involvement.

All the respondents were asked concerning their engagement in various crimes such as burglary, stealing, vandalism, use of illegal drugs, weapon carrying, violence and sexual crimes. Responses to each question were coded as 0=never, 1=once or twice, 2=3 to 9 times and 3=ten times or more. The results revealed the likelihood of the respondent to face profiling by the police based on past criminal record alone.
