From the moment a child is born, he is like a little sponge, taking in all the information given to him. From what I learn from my background is black relates to death, evil, and disasters, and white correlate with life, pure, and hope. Because the IAT test is a very American-focused test, they are open about their racism, so my result was not among the biggest percentage of the statistics. If the test was more Canadian-focused, the statistics might be more clustered towards the middle because Canadians are famous for being polite. We do not accept people who openly discriminate someone, so we hide the fact that we give different treatment to others based on our prejudice towards someone. As an Asian girl, I had adopted the stereotype ideas, and somehow meet the typical Asians are good at math. However, I know clearly it is not because I am Chinese and math is magically easier for me, but it is because for the hours and worksheets that I do outside of school. I also go to classes to get an earlier start on topics before the materials are taught at school. With these combinations, I have formed the image that I am great at math and satisfied the bias idea people have for Asian children being good at math. There is a various correlation to how a person’s bias built such as their environment factor contribute the most, and a person’s personal experience and favoritism built on to their prejudgment among racial groups. Although the result of the test did not surprise me in any way, I have learned that first impression is very important because as I am walking on the street I represent my race. How I present myself might affect how others see my biological culture, so I should not give prejudgment to any racial group. No one is perfect, so how could people expect a racial group to have only good
