As I already described about Fasting and about the month of Ramadan in my previous published article “Fasting (Roza). The 3rd Pillar of Islam”, now I am going to share some basic rules, issues and virtues of Ramadan Kareem in this article.
Fast (Roza) will be broken from the following acts/things, and in result Qaza and the Penalty (Kaffarah) will become Obligatory:
Intentionally eat or drink something.
Make sexual relation naturally or unnaturally.
Take medication or drugs.
Use of tobacco (Like Cigarette, Hukka, Biddi, Naswaar etc).

The penalty (Kaffarah) for Fasting (Roza):
Free a Slave, if available.
60 continuous fasts (Rozey) without any gap and if a gap happens then start count again from first.
These 60 days must be except from Ramadan Shareef, Eid-ul-Fiter, Eid-ul-Adha, and Aiyaam-e-Tashreeq.
However, if any woman have her periods in between these 60 days or bleeding in process of conceive a baby, in these cases women has no need to start count again, they can continue their fasts where they stoped.
If you are not able to make fast (Roza) due to any disease or weakness, then feed 60 needy or poor persons twice a day. (Same 60 persons for both times. If persons will change no penalty (Kaffarah) will done)
Or pay cash (Sadaqah-e-Fitr) equal to the cost of meal to 60 needy or poor persons.
If you feed one needy person twice a day for 60 days or pay cash (Sadaqah-e-Fitr) for 60 days, then penalty (Kaffarah) will be done.
