They would have to understand realism and the six principles of realism. This is a basis for many foreign policy platforms across the globe. Realism is the belief that the world does not conform to ideals and that people are not automatically fit for an idealistic system. People and states in realism are considered to be only interested in power. This and a belief that the only reason that governments are involved in other conflicts across the globe is because they are only interested in power. Power is defined as the control over a man’s thoughts and actions. Power in realism is the only reason that governments would do anything in international politics. Power also has an inverse, pseudo power, or false power. These four categories of pseudo power are influence, through negotiations, force, unusable power such as international institutions, and illegitimate powers. This shows that realism is more interested in the control of a state or people. The President would also have to consider the three reasons that people would allow them to be under the thumb of the United States. These are benefits, fear, and love/respect. A state would only allow its actions to be controlled by the interests of the United States if it feared the military strength we have, loves our democracy and our ways or, knows they can benefit in some way by doing what is right in the United States view. This would create an area for something that would be more effective in stabilizing the region take root.This would be a normal neorealist behavior. It would be a basic tie and both states would be able to meddle in the civil war. The reason that this advice would be beneficial to both nations. With the combined power of these powers would defeat the Islamic State in a matter of months. The states would be able to create large stockpiles of weapons and other useful objects of war. After the two states defeat the threat that they share, they should leave and let the Syrians decide what type of government that they want and who they want to aligned with. This does not mean that the United States will not send aid, money and weapons to revolutionaries that are sympathetic to the United States. It means both sides will withdraw practical support of things such as air strikes, drone strikes, tanks, and troops unless it is dealing with a direct threat to one of the nations. This would give the people of Syria the ability to choose how they want to live and how they want to be governed. This would also allow the United States to focus on issues at home such as, wealth inequality, racial inequality, and crippling debt. The issues that get set aside when we are in a conflict are important to the betterment
