Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant
But in the kingdom of heaven, the greatest is the one who serves all. Authority is a useful service, a gift, a blessing for serving God and serving others. When we use authority properly, we are also loving properly.
27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.
Jesus, in describing this new perspective of leadership is saying, instead of using people for our gain, we should look for ways to be used by God, and we should serve people to try and help them in their lives. Jesus 's mission in life was just that-Serving God 's will, and serving here on earth to save us by giving his life away. Jesus taught them, and is teaching us today that a real leader has a servants heart. A servant leader appreciates the worth of other, and in their hearts they are not above any job just because of their position.
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.””
