My experience so far during this course has been a huge learning experience, I came into the course not knowing what to expect, I survived year one, year two is coming to an end and an exciting new year is waiting to be explored. A few experiences I have been through have challenged how I see Pasifika education and through those challenges I have made my own philosophy to change the future of education. I have written about the image of the child, language and culture, relationships and the importance of inclusion. Not only could I see how the course papers all link together but I was able to apply my knowledge and experiences to curriculum documents.

I learnt about inclusive practises last year but this year I had to put them into practise. The way I place myself around children meant that I am aware of their safety and that I am visible if help is needed. Getting down to a child’s level will ensure they can speak with me confidently and not feel intimidated. Having resources available that will include all diverse leaners needs will enable them to feel a sense of belonging within the centre. Children with disabilities will have different needs so as a student teacher on practicum for a short amount of time I need to get to know the child by talking to staff, parents and families so I do not cross any boundaries that can harm the child or any relationships I have with that child (Education Review Office, …show more content…
As the year comes to an end I also conclude my learning experiences for the journey so far. There has been many challenges this year that I have been supported through and have become stronger because of them. Not all my teaching experiences have been pleasant but my philosophy of treating children like they are my own and having a love for all children has kept me going. Being a soon to be mum has had a huge influence on how I view children. I see how all our papers weave in together and how they cannot stand without the other. I look forward to another year of learning and adding more knowledge to my
